Fernando Caballero, KEBA Prep: The bullish 6-foot-3 guard has increased in stock tremendously since prolonging his career at KEBA Prep. A tough scorer with a dependable outside shot and the innate knack for scoring on the drive and via floaters, Caballero has seamlessly transitioned to the facilitator and scorer role at KEBA.
He piled up 10 assists during a recent game and has been able to feed the post. With his dribble penetration and ability to pull off needle threading passes, the tough and well built guard could wind up being a steal late. His adeptness in the half court set and explosiveness have been on display as of late. The Class of 2020 Caballero will be one of several unsigned guard’s in this weekend’s IMG Beach Blast in Florida.
High level NAIA Silver Lake College of the Holy Family and State Fair are among several of the programs recruiting Caballero. His transition speed and shifty game, along with his ability to change the speeds and control the tempo, have enabled him to play his best this season.
Koby Isaac, Miami Triple Threat: Few players have taken off in the post graduate season like the high scoring Isaac, who continues to put up 20+ point performances nightly. The Class of 2020 prospect is a tough two way guard who has added to his passing arsenal by transitioning to the quarterback role with ease under Conor Quigley this season. Isaac has added range on his 3-point shot as well, hitting back to back 3-pointers from NBA range during a recent performance. KI is a run-sparker type of scorer, he has the knack for reeling off points in a hurry and knows how to finish through hard contact.
Caleb White, Scotland Campus HS: The physical, 6-foot-8 240-pound manchild has registered his presence as a monstrous interior cog. White has had multiple games of 12+ rebounds these last few games. He showed his ability to score above the rim during the Scotland Invitational. The South Alabama commit oozes of upside because of his football player build and unrivaled physicality at this level. He is a senior strongman with big soft hands who knows how to finish around the rim. Improving incrementally as a free throw shooter throughout the season has made him a high efficiency scorer.
Kale Stephens, Central Pointe Christian Academy: The 6-foot-2 point guard has a natural ability to see the floor, especially as a highly touted high school quarterback in Indiana. With his fluid outside shot and acrobatic open court finisher, Stephens has increased his stock these past few months as well. The Class of 2020 guard put together a triple double during a victory over Combine Academy (NC) and has the tool-set to trigger a breakneck attack. He is a certifiable shot-maker. Three consecutive 3-pointers (including the game-winner) in the final three minutes of an upset victory over Eastern Florida State (JUCO) at the start of the season is indicative of this.
Hasahn Abdul Hakim, Central Pointe Christian Academy: Similar to Joel Ntambwe (now at Texas Tech) before him, Abdul-Hakim brings a matchup nightmare with his ability to handle the basketball at playmake at 6-foot-7. He has shown sneaky athleticism and an above average at the rim finishing ability. Recently, he has been able to pick apart defenders with his ambidextrous finishing ability.
He is a willing passer who knows how to make his teammates beneficiaries of his presence. His length and status as a multi-positional defender are additionally noteworthy facets of his evolving skill set.
Erik Neusel, Central Pointe Christian Academy: Boasting a 4.0 GPA, the game of Neusel between the ears is a major indicator of his upside. At 6-feet-7 he knows how to get off the right shot and bring defenders away from the basket. He has some gliding athleticism which enables him to make high percentage shots and finish above the rim. He has an old school touch with his 12-15 foot jumper, a seemingly lost art given the reliance on the 3-point shot in the current day game. Defensively, he knows how to clamp down on guards and also front the post.
Marko Dimovski, Scotland Campus Prep White: The 6-foot-4 guard has shown flashes with his sneaky explosiveness. He is long, athletic, and knows how to hit the outside shot with consistency. He is equally effective and locating the mismatch and posting up on smaller guards who he finishes on at the rim. Still developing into his body and adding muscle onto a spindly frame, Dimovski is learning how to finish through hard contact with either hand. A late bloomer who could make some noise at the end of this month and beyond.
Sean Stokes, Impact Ballers: The high-scoring guard and all around athlete from Pennsylvania has been a consistent high scorer for head coach Marlon Brown. He is a high level shot-maker who can hit deep 3-pointers with consistency. Offensively, he is adept at reading a defense and knowing when to attack and finish around the rim. His catch-and-stick game, along with his ability to manufacture points at all three levels has led to several high-20 point games this season.
