At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Yero Diallo showed a consistent 3-level scoring aptitude throughout a memorable stay at S4G Academy in North Carolina.
A shot-maker who spread the floor out with his deft long range game and also fed versatile 6-foot-7 behemoth Chase Thompson (who led the country in scoring at 31.5 PPG), the well built guard catalyzed the souped up attack.
Diallo was able to set the tone defensively, guarding multiple positions and improving incrementally throughout the season with his thorough, on-ball defense.
With a ramped strength of schedule that included plenty of JUCOs and traditional NC and New England prep powers, Diallo averaged 18 points and six assists while playing both the point and 2-guard.
He eventually gained help from ASI transfer Chase Sanders (now at West Alabama), a certifiable sniper who had multiple games of 7+ 3-pointers.
Diallo himself connected on 7+ from beyond the arc on multiple occasions, but you can’t pigeonhole is a shooter.
This much was evident during S4G’s win over Scotland Invitational, when Diallo scored 18 points to propel S4G to a win over Scotland’s regional prep team.
The Ohio native scored at the rim, finished through traffic, manufactured points at the free throw line and connected on deep 3-pointers.
Having just turned 18 and embracing a monstrous work ethic, the upside and the quality is evident .
