Chris Jamil Cornish, Charlotte HS–At 6-foot-4 and with bouncy, upper tier athleticism that enables him to attack the baseline and knife his way to the rim with relative ease, the Class of 2024 Cornish possesses as much raw talent and natural ability and potential as anyone in the program. He showed length and a real nose for the ball throughout. He may eventually be 6-foot-8 when all is said and done.
Hasani Rivera–At 6-foot-5 and 222 pounds, the forward has a manchild build and attributes that translate to a wealth of potential and tremendous future. The 15-year-old Rivera displayed versatility early, hitting outside shots and spreading the floor out with his deep jumper.
He’s got the length and wingspan that helps him carom rebounds and also block and manipulate shots. Sporting Size 14 sneakers already, this young man has a serious future ahead of him as he continues to develop and invest in the workload.
AJ Wright, Clearwater–The Class of 2022 point guard showed a knack for controlling the tempo and true point guard instincts. He also hit timely, deep outside shots and proved he can knock down contested shots with a hand in his face. Wright hit a pair of momentum bolstering three pointers in high pressure situations, a portent that he’s ready to assume the leadership role this season.
Trent Scott, Alonso HS–The smooth 6-foot-3 guard is a cerebral game manager who knows how to get those around him involved. He also showed confidence in his outside shooting, netting a pair of straight away 3-pointers. He sets a loud tone on the defensive end, deflecting passes and applying stout on ball defense.
CJ Lee, Clearwater–The 6-foot-1 guard is a two way threat with the type of athleticism that enables him to get above the rim and finish and also instigate turnovers at the other end. Lee brings the toughness that comes with being a multi sport athlete and is hyper competitive, having a hand in plays and battling for rebounds and 50-50 balls.
Trevor Dyson, Wharton HS–A powerfully built 6-foot-5 guard/forward with strength and a wingspan, Dyson showed his ability to manufacture points in a variety of ways.
He’s a hard slashing threat who knows how to finish through traffic and in the trenches through contact. Less than a month after scoring 17 points and pulling down 11 boards against Team Hickory, Dyson is a high motored scoring threat with a college ready build.
Reece White, Boca Ciega–A 6-foot-7 Class of 2023 prospect and bouncy athleticism, White announced his presence early with a one handed dunk on a transition attack.
He’s got a skill set that allows him to spread the floor out and hit the outside shot with consistency.
Active on the glass, White brings versatility as.he handles it very well for a player of his size.
Terek McCant, Seffner Christian–The 5-foot-10 point guard has an innate feel for the game with a high basketball IQ and an ability to operate offense and playmake.
He showed a fluid outside shot and a crafty finishing ability. The multi sport athlete and Class of 2024 guard has a maturity and beyond his years skill set.
Derrick Doe JR, ACA–The youngest player on the court and also one of the most fearless, the Class of 2025 Doe JR is shifty and a high IQ passer.
He’s got a tight handle and knows how to make those around him beneficiaries of his presence. Doe Jr. has always played up a year or multiple years, gaining valuable experience that will benefit him down the road.
EJ English, Estero–The Class of 2021 guard is a crafty 6-foot-2 guard who poses a unique threat with his deft, deep, long range shooting and his ability to reel off points with transition three-pointers. He’s a reliable on ball defender who uses his physicality in gathering boards and defending multiple positions. A bigger guard, English has the type of college ready build that attracts college coaches.
Tayshawn Pendleton, PHS–The 6-foot-3 guard possesses some defensive powered with his ability to block shots with either hand and apply suffocating on ball pressure. He provides length, athleticism, and consistent mid range shot blocking ability. He’s able to set a loud tone defensively and constantly engaged throughout four quarters of play.
Dominic Gooden, PHS–With an IQ and a killer instinct, the Class of 2022 prospect plays with a savvy and a toughness. He was a consistent scorer throughout the Top Prospect Showcase, hitting stepback jumpers and outside shots and finishing at the rim in crafty fashion.
There is no button you need to press with this kid. He is start to finish in everything he does.
Drew Carter, Community Christian–The lefty has an adeptness for creating offense and also a consistent deep jumper. He showed both aspects throughout and a know how that is rare for his age. Expect the 2023 prospect to continue to open his eyes with his play this season.
Malachi Moody, The Village School of Naples–Another lefty, Moody showed a smooth outside shot and an ability to facilitate in the half court set and attack the run. He’s got an athletic build and can score points without requiring a lot of shot attempts and is completely unselfish.
Nick Cassano, Gulf Coast–At 6-foot-5 and with a polished skill set, Cassano has the IQ and wide ranging game that allows him to do what most at his age and size can’t. Beyond snatching boards, he’s got an adept handle and the versatility to guard and play multiple positions. He showed an ability to manufacture points at all three levels and get to the free throw line.
Kevin Charles, Immokalee–The 6-foot-4 guard is a high level athlete with powerful leaping and finishing ability. He’s got natural ability in his knack for getting to the rim and finishing and also getting out into the open court. Look for the Class of 2022 prospect to inherit some of the leadership reins as a junior this season.
