Solomon Ball’s stock is taking flight following a significant performance during the EYBL Session 1.
The Leesburg, Va. native and Class of 2023 prospect has earned an uptick in offers after averaging 20 points and 5.2 boards this past weekend. Ball, a 6-foot-3 guard with high end vertically explosive athleticism who plays at St. James (VA), said he’s taking everything one step at a time.
“Since the first EYBL session I’ve picked up seven offers,” said Ball.
“Virginia Tech, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Pitt, Providence, Illinois, and George Mason. Georgia Tech, DePaul, Illinois, Providence, UVA and Virginia Tech have talked to me the most recently.”
Ball, who has a 6-foot-10 wingspan, said he hasn’t scheduled any visits yet.
“That could change soon,” he explained.
One component of his game that’s grown is his ability to snatch rebounds and tighten up on guards with confrontational pressure.
Having recently transitioned to Team Melo, he’s instantaneously become a centerpiece.
“With Team Melo I’m able to play my game and impact all parts of the game,” Ball said.
“I’m able to use my athleticism and crash the glass at will and I have the green light to shoot and my coaches trust me with the ball in my hands.”
The left handed Ball is unranked but continues to stake his claim as one of the country’s top guards in his class.
He visited Xavier in the fall and holds additional offers from DePaul, Iona, Richmond, VCU, St. Joe’s, GWU, Towson, Mount St. Mary’s, Howard and several others.
With newly minted George Washington coach Chris Caputo and staff re-offering Ball, he’s accumulated 16 total offers.
