All The Right Reeds: Deadeye Shooter Is Late Bloomer Recruit

.

With length and a catch and shoot game that enabled him to pioneer his high school team this season, Camryn Reed quickly established himself as one of the best 3-point shooters in the area this season.

Having finely tuned his all around skill set as a versatile guard while attending camp run by legendary Nuggets guard Chris Jackson, Reed erupted as one of the state’s Top-10 outside shooters in the state.

While he raised his profile playing with the ProSkills on the 2023 UAA circuit, Reed is a quintessential safe bet recruit for his ability to score it off the ball and score without requiring a lot of dribbles.

Reed’s length enables him to make heads up plays defensively, as he’s got the side ranging ability to guard nearly every position. Beyond this, he’s able to kick start scoring runs when he relishes the hot hand.

It was Reed’s pressurized, game winning shot with with just a tenth of a second remaining which helped propel his team into district championships and a berth in the Final 8.

The under the radar and very much undiscovered guard was ranked Top-50 in the state and was valued as one of the state’s top-10 shooters. With his length and ability to defend everything and convert opponent’s turnovers into transition leak-out baskets, you can’t pigeonhole Reed as a shooter. He’s garnered credibility as a two way threat who stays engaged throughout all four quarters.

A high academic prospect, Reed holds a 4.0 GPA and takes a chock full of high level courses. He’s already been accepted into several Universities as a regular student. As an 11th hour late blossomer, he’s got the opportunity to gain a scholarship before the spring or summer’s end.

Reed, who solidified his status as a high pressure shot maker during the districts finals, will compete in the 48th Annual Oklahoma All Star Classic on May 25.
