Stanford tapped into the local California recruiting market this summer, discovering a pair of high profile beyond their years prospects in Class of 2026 recruits Alex and Hunter Harrington.
The pair of brothers, multi-sport athletes at Cathedral Catholic HS in San Diego, have earned scholarship offers from Stanford.
Both players bring upside in athleticism, five tool capabilities, and all around polish. The twin brothers, who are actually identical twins and a part of triplets with sister Vienna, have generated buzz and interest from Ivy League schools.
The tandem is being recruited for both basketball and football as well, even amid the embryonic stages of their recruitment as freshmen.
With plus athleticism and the type of soft hands and arm strength that’s rare for most shortstops of his age, Class of 2026 prospect Alex Harrington spent the summer thriving in a number of national and exposure heavy events.
Work rate and versatility are the two bedrock assets of his trade.
The multi-positional Harrington has displayed the type of carry and fluid movement that translates to the highest level of play, garnering him visibility as a Division 1 recruit before he’s even reached high school.
As a pitcher, Harrington’s unique arsenal includes a biting curveball and an 88 MPH fastball.
He’s buoyed by a knack for getting ahead on the pitch count. Critical components such as the movement, location, and poise he displays are indicative of an advanced skill set on the hill.
Alex Harrington‘s game is predicated on bat speed, timely hitting, and instinctive defense.
With his range at short stop, wiry athleticism and ball tracking skill set, Alex Harrington’s game has garnered the attention of coaches during Perfect Game USA events and throughout this past summer’s travel ball circuit.
The game has become a livelihood for Hunter Harrington.
Like his brother a multi-sport athlete, Hunter’s 12-month hardball commitment garnered the attention of Division-1 programs back when he was still a seventh grader.
A 6-foot-2, 155-pound Center Fielder, Hunter Harrington possesses the type of fluid athleticism, ball tracking skills, and arm strength which is translatable to the highest level of play.
He’s versatile enough to play multiple positions, including first base, third. He will even spend some time at the hill.
At the dish, Harrington’s purity of vision is what differentiates him from other prospects of his type.
Scouts have been quick to cite Hunter’s polished bat to ball skill set, which enables him to find gaps in the outfield.
With a 4.0 grade point average, Harrington will translate instantly to the rigors of the collegiate experience at the elite level academic programs now recruiting him.
Statistics-wise, it’s hard to argue the product. Both brothers are clocked at a 6.4 in the 60.
They also wound up as two time Perfect Game Selectfest players.
The summer wasn’t complete without adding some hardware. Alex won a Gold Medal with the USA 15U National team.
Hunter was Given the “Fastest Man Award” by Perfect Game USA.
USA Professional Development Program Next
Alex and Hunter have been active three sport athletes around the clock.
They also were able to ply their athletic trade on the pitch, where they wound up as medal winners in Barcelona playing soccer for Albion Soccer Travel Club.
And while they’ve been active in all sports competitively, baseball is where they’ve really thrived and discovered a college ready game.
The twin brothers attained a personal milestone recently, selected to the USA Professional Development Program at UCLA.
It is slated for this December, at the prestigious Jackie Robinson Stadium.
