Koby Isaac, Palm Beach State –The well-built 6-foot-3 guard provides a unique blend of imposing size and veteran scoring.
Capable of playing on or off the ball, Isaac recently authored a 28-point performance during a 98-90 loss to Indian River State.
With a wealth of experience and know how in adapting to different systems, Isaac is able to apply confrontational ball pressure and also guard every position.
Isaac leads by example as a guy who has been through his fair share of battles on the high level JUCO scene before.
Expect Isaac to anticipate a prominent role as a Palm Beach State program groping for stability after several listless seasons opens up the new year with a home slate which includes Bay College, Roxbury, and Pasco-Hernando State.
Instrumental in cultivating Isaac’s development has been trainer Mark Davis, the former Texas Tech forward who played several years in the NBA.
Brandon Garcia, Eastern Florida State–The Weston native is a crafty offensive threat with a smooth handle and poised shot creation tactics. He scored a game-best 21 points to lead Eastern Florida to a recent 73-70 victory over Southern Union State College.
Garcia showed flashes during his redshirt freshman season last year, most notably with a 17-point performance against St. Petersburg College. He also showed promise with his adroit outside touch, shooting it at 40 percent from beyond the arc. He’s thrust into a prominent role after being sidelined the first 13 games of the season.
Eastern Florida is currently 10-5 under Jeremy Shulman.
Andres Burney, Eastern Florida State–The 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward from Alabama is putting together a stellar sophomore campaign.
Burney is averaging 15 points and 10 boards and is coming off a 15-point (6-for-9 FG), seven board and two block performance during the aforementioned 73-70 victory over Southern Union State. He’s had a 30-point game this year and scored 26 points (12-for-16 FG) during a 73-59 victory over Palm Beach State in late November. Burney is shooting 60 percent from the floor.
Jalen Speer, Santa Fe College –The gritty guard has been a prolific scoring piece on which SFC has leaned. He’s also impacted every connotation of the stat sheet, as the 6-foot-1 Gainesville product is averaging 18 points, 4.9 assists and 4.6 boards.
Speer had a 34-point game against Florida Gateway and went off for 27 against Hillsborough. He’s been plenty consistent, besides one irregular 3-for-14 performance against Northwest Florida State.
Nasir Mann, Santa Fe College–The 6-foot-5 guard has made an immense leap from his freshman to sophomore year. He’s a high energy, soaring athlete who is now shooting at 44 percent from beyond the arc.Mann is averaging 14.3 points and 6.8 rebounds, establishing himself as a not only an opportunitistic shot maker but a hard slashing and cerebral all around player.
Mann has hit 11 of his last 21 3-point attempts and is steadily becoming a focal point. He was recently named as a JUCO Top-100 recruit.
Roderick Coffee III, Pensacola State –The 6-foot-5, 200-pound freshman guard is unique with his intriguing size and high IQ.He’s averaging 11 points and 3.5 assists.
Coffee is coming off a promising performance during a win over Southern Union State, piling up 14 points, 13 boards and six assists.While he’s established himself as a timely shot maker, he’s used the JUCO experience to finely tune all components of his game and impact a game on both ends of the floor.
He’s also an adept slasher who has been consistent in earning trips to the free throw line.
